Most everyone has tried to lose body fat at some point or another.
Why is that some people can never lose Body fat? There are mainly 2 reasons that hold people back: know how and priorities.
If you have both of these you will likely be successful. If you don’t, you almost certainly won’t.
When I first decided to write this article was going to make it all about priorities, having Body fat as a top priority is very important to success but if you don’t have any idea how to do it then you likely won’t get too far, so I decided I better include know how.
There are a lot of people out there that have no idea what a good diet is or they think they can go run for a mile then eat a large pizza afterward and they will be fine because they ran that mile.
It doesn’t work that way. If you plan on losing weight your diet will be very important and you can’t just do a couple exercises and then eat whatever you want because you think those exercises will cancel it out.
Also if you think just doing 10 minutes on the crosstrainer on the easiest setting or doing 50 crunches on the Ab-Roller is going to take you from fat to fit then you probably have another thing coming.
Losing Body fat takes a strict diet and exercise and it takes time. Motivation alone is a great thing to have but you are going to need some knowledge to go with it. If you are in need of some diet and nutrition knowledge this article pretty much covers it.
Priorities I would argue are even more important than the know how because if you make losing Body fat a top priority you will probably do the research on how to go about doing it or going to a fitness professional who will advise you on where to start.
If you want to lose weight but you have it as your 7th priority behind work, family, watching tv, cleaning your house, hanging with friends, sleep, and Facebook then your chances of any success are slim to none.
Not that some of those aren’t important but having fat loss as your 7th priority translates to going for a jog around the block once a week and eating a salad once or twice a week. Both are good things to be doing but that is not enough to make any real change.
Fat loss and fitness are like anything else in life: You get out of it what you put into it.
If you half ass anything in life it probably won’t get you very far and weight loss is no different. Fat loss requires a certain level of dedication and if it isn’t one of your top three priorities you probably aren’t dedicated enough to make a real change.
I am not saying it needs to be a top 3 priority for the rest of your life, if you did that you might turn into a self centered asshole. Once you lose the weight you can drop it back a little to maintain your weight, like 3rd or 4th or maybe 5th on the priority scale. Don’t let it drop way down on your priority list where it was before or your body will end up right back there with it.
Hey, it happens all of us. I know myself that once I take my eye off the ball, ease off the training, start having some small late night snack here and there then damage is around the corner.
The hard part is keeping the motivation up when the changes are coming slowly. Don’t lose faith though. Keep working hard and you will get there. As the saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in a day”.
It’s not rocket science, fat loss is all about effort, and know how. You put both of those together and in the long run you are sure to have success. If you can’t lose weight you probably don’t have one or both. And remember, you didn’t put the weight on overnight, don’t expect it to come off overnight either.
